Christmas

Every year we do the same routine on Christmas.  Everyone comes over to our house at 9 am for breakfast which this year consisted of French toast, fried eggs, bacon, orange juice and cinnamon rolls.  That usually took about an hour-ish with all the chatting and funny stories.  This year was no exception except that uncle Kevin got punched in the eye by his dog that morning.  He showed up wearing sunglasses and was very sensitive to the light.

After stuffing our faces and some epic story telling, we got all the dishes cleared off and we moved into the "Christmas room."  I have deemed it the "Christmas room" because that is basically when we use it.  Of course I was the one everyone wanted to pass out gifts.  It seems like I do it every year.  As I was passing out gifts, Tracy and Doug were playing with her new kittens.  She named them Wilson and Sparkle.

We all opened all of our gifts and started throwing wadded up paper at each other.  Then we went and got the guns and darts out we opened the night before.  We shot each other with those for a while.  Then everyone got their stuff together and went home to relax and get ready for dinner.

People watched movies, took naps and relaxed.  I felt like I needed to go for a jog.  I got my new running pants on and did my run and post work out.  I was a little sad my weight bench and weights were over at grandma's house.  After I got back home I decided to go get a Christmas day cache over at Sprouffski's Tree Farm just outside of town.  I asked anyone if they wanted to go with me and no one budged.  I talked to Bev while I found it.  It was a nice hide.

I got back home, took a shower and helped pick up the house a bit while dad started preparing dinner.  We all sat at the table messing with our Kindle's.  They had found a game where you could kill everyone in the world with viruses, zombies and other diseases.

Time got away and soon everyone arrived for dinner.  We had ham, mashed potatoes/gravy, veggies and dip, corn, rolls and had some really weird conversation again.  It never fails.  We always manage to get to the topic of poop while at the dinner table.  After dinner, we cleaned up the table and decided we all wanted to play a game but debated which one for a while.  We decided on pictionary and we had to go find a white board, markers and an eisle. Within about twenty minutes we managed to find everything and divided everyone up into teams and went from there.  There was lots of laughing, yelling, cheating and some very interesting drawings.  My family has a top ten game night list and I'm sure one or two of the drawings made that list.  Nothing will ever top Doug's rendition on how to silently act out the word reproduction in front of the family about ten years ago.

It was about that time for everyone to go home but everyone had some pie and cookies before calling it a night.  Another Christmas came and went.  I look forward to what 2014 will bring.  Cheers everyone!
