This year Valentine's Day was on a Saturday. I never really considered this day to be a holiday or really spent any time worrying about it. It's like they say, it's a holiday that was made up to make single people feel sad, corporations to make a butt-ton of money off of everyone and give the illusion that you should only be romantic once a year. Eff that noise! You should care about the person you're with every day and no amount of money or things can beat time well spent with them.
This is my second Valentine's Day with Ben and right from the get-go I told him never to spend money on me on this day. We agreed to making cards or crafts for one another. Since I work on the weekends and holidays really don't matter, Ben had the day off so he spent it running errands. I got done with work around 3:30-4ish so I called him. He sounded guilty of something. He was in town and I knew he was going to do something for me. I wasn't sure what exactly. He told me not to come outside. I told him I had to. I had to go to the lobby and finish my paperwork and log out. He said okay.
I finish what I was doing and went out to my car. He had decorated it with hearts. The hearts had words on them. He said each heart represents a word that I love about you. Aww, how sweet of him.
We did a few things at the store since we were in town and then headed back to my house. Mom made chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and salad. We watched some TV, ate some goodies and ice cream and then Ben and I watched 22 Jump Street until it was time for him to go back to the station and for me to go to sleep. I had a very busy and long day ahead of me tomorrow.
