Great Wolf Lodge with Fitzy

The Great Wolf Lodge opened in 2008 just south of Grand Mound and north of Centralia.  I never thought I would ever go mostly because it is an expensive place.  You couldn't just go for the water park, you have to pay for a hotel room and the water park as a package.

One of my friends, Fitzy, was attending an athletic training convention in one of their large conference rooms and one of the perks was that they received two free tickets to go inside the water park for that day.  She called me and invited to go with her because Chaise doesn't really like water all that much.  I told her sure and when I should be there.  We really didn't need to spend a huge amount of time there.

I got my suit and towel and drove the 20 miles to Grand Mound.  I met her outside the facility of course it rained.

We went inside, showed them our tickets and made our way to the locker rooms to change.  We got a key for our locker so our valuables wouldn't get stolen by punk kids.  I have never seen a water park indoors before.  There was a small store that sold water toys, suits and goggles, a snack shack, tables, bathrooms and the giant wave pool.  Off to the side was a kiddy pool, water buckets, small slides, the hot tub and water gun devices.  The large water slides and the tornado was behind the smaller slides.  There were kids waiting in lines for those.

We decided to hit the large water slides and the tornado first.   We ended up doing the slides and tornado a couple of times before spending some time in the wave pool and the hot tub.

This place was definitely catered for kids.  I probably would have had more fun if this place was around 20 years ago.  We still had fun though, especially when we screamed inside the tornado, haha.  We were there for probably a good 4 hours and eventually the chlorine got to us.  I can't be in an indoor area with chlorine for too long or I start to feel sick.

We got our stuff out of the lockers, showered and got dressed.  I saw a hilarious sign and I just couldn't help myself.

But just remember do not pee or poop in the pool, HAHA!

Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen for their promotional 25 cent blizzards.  I got Oreo, my favorite kind.  I thanked Fitzy for inviting me along and we both went home.
