Family Fun Center, Sparks Firehouse Deli and Geocaching

Ben and I went to bed way too late and slept in the death bed downstairs that aged your back like 30 years when you got up.  My left sciatica was angry.  I went into the bathroom and did my bathroom stuff to get ready for our day.  We went upstairs and Ben made his breakfast turkey sandwiches.  I had mine with orange juice and he had his coffee.  We haven't had a date day in a while so we decided to head up to Tukwila and spend some time at the Family Fun Center.  We weren't coming back to his mom's house after we were done so we packed up our stuff and crammed it into the Escape.  We gave out hugs and thanked his mom for having us over.

I have never been here but have been past here many times wondering what kind of fun was inside.  Since we didn't live near here or frequent up here growing up we never stepped foot inside.  I was in for a real treat.  Ben said we were going to do mini golf and go carts.  I was super excited for go karts.  We jumped into the Escape (since I drove us up to Bonney Lake for the weekend) and hit up 167 towards the Tukwila area.  I had to have Ben tell me where to go because I couldn't remember where it was exactly.

I saw the building, parked and went inside.  I asked Ben when the last time he was here and he said it's been a while.  We weren't sure where we were suppose to go to buy tickets for go karts and mini golf because the one place that you would do it at had a sign that said group check in/registration.  We weren't a group so where do normal people do this at?  We went upstairs and quickly used the restroom and then went back downstairs to ask.  It was the same booth but was very misleading.  We paid for our two activities and headed to the mini golf first.  We got our putters and balls.  The ball machine was weird but we eventually figured it out.  I got a blue ball and Ben got a green ball.  Let the games begin!

There were 36 holes and two different courses, one was called Memory Lane and the second one was called Arctic Adventure.  We did Memory Lane first and kept our balls and then did Arctic Adventure, we broke the rules.  I blame Ben and his peer pressure.  I had three holes in one and I beat Ben.  It was glorious!  He will tell you otherwise but we did keep score on the card.

We walked over to the go kart line and waited about 10 minutes for the next round.  I was super stoked.  I could not wait to get into the go kart and speed!

We finally get into our karts, they tell us the rules, we strap ourselves in and we wait for the go signal.  I peeled out of there as fast as I could.  I had to get in front of Ben since I started out right behind him.  It was a race.  I am not sure how long we got to drive around but I had to make it count.  At one point a stupid (probably 12 or so year old kid) slammed on his brakes right in front of me.  I had to swerve around him just to get away from him.  It was fun trying to catch Ben and finally a few laps before we had to stop I caught up to him and left him in the dust!  Muhahaha!

We parked the karts and got out.  We took a few goofy pictures and walked back out to the Escape.

I asked Ben if he was hungry and he said, "I could eat."  We looked to see if there were any breweries nearby.  There were but none of them served food as well.  We ended up in Sumner and decided to grab a few caches while were here because Streak Week had just started.  We basically had to find a cache everyday for a week and it started today.  We parked in the lot and walked to the first one we attempted to find, The River Edge Café (GCZQX6) but there were too many muggles around to even try to find it.  We moved onto the next one on the other side of the building, Sumner's Canneries (GC100BM).  It was near the loading area in one of the bushes in the landscape island.  It took a few minutes to locate it but we made out with the find.

We went inside the cannery to look at furniture...mostly just for fun.  Ben needed some ideas on what kind of a dresser he wanted to get some day.  His Ikea dresser he's had for a few years is starting to fall apart and he is getting frustrated with it.  We were both getting hungry now and I wanted to find at least one more cache while w were in Sumner.  The closest one was the SUMNER TRAIN STATION (GCZRYR).  A few years ago we tried finding this one with Trish and Amy but it was getting dark and we gave up.  It may have been missing at the time but we wanted to turn that frown upside down.  Again, we spend a few minutes looking and we found it!!  I knew it was one of those darn magnetic nanos.

We need food.  I suggested the Sparks Firehouse Deli, a place we haven't been to in a while, since we weren't that far away from Puyallup.  We both ordered sandwiches and while waiting, Ben ran into his friend Ben and his girlfriend.  They had ordered pizza and came by to pick it up.  Ben and Ben chatted for a bit.  They left to take their pizza home while Ben and I ate our delicious sandwiches.  It was almost too much food by the time we were done.  I ate way too much food this weekend.

We headed back to the freeway and headed home.  It took us about an hour due to traffic and stupid people on the freeway.  We got home, started some laundry, did a few chores, got cleaned up and relaxed a bit before starting the new work week.  We had a great time this weekend visiting his aunt, meeting her world of people, eating food, mini golf and go karts.  Until the next time we come up north!
