Well the Cubs won the world series. It took 108 years, several curses, predictions, heart break and being patient. Being a sports fan sure does age you. Those close games, championships, mistakes and just having so much anxiety because we believe our team is better than your team or that our team deserves to win. I've been a sports fan my whole life and it sucks when your team doesn't do very well or loses the big game. I've seen some historical games, improbable come from behind wins, there is no way we are going to win but magically somehow we do, the heartbreakers and the ones you just can't unsee.
It's easy to bandwagon a team because people enjoy rooting for a team who is actually winning than to stick with a team that is in a large decade or more rut. I always root for my team who is winning or not. Like I said before, it's more fun to watch them when they are winning or are successful.
Here is a recap of
Game 7 of the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians, a historical game where the rest of the world was waiting for the Cubs to take the whole damn thing. This is one of those instances where someone will ask you, "where were you when the Cubs won the world series?"
Not really being a Cubs fan but a fan of the game and the historical significance, I was in my living room cheering for the Cubs and when the last out was recorded both Ben and I cheered for the long awaited curse to be broken. It was such a great end to the world series you almost cried.
GO CUBS GO!
