Engine House No. 9, Mini Golf and Bowling

Ben wanted to do something fun after work but it is hard on a Monday because a lot of places close early or there just isn't a whole lot going on.  He called me a few hours before his shift at the casino was over and asked if I wanted to go mini golfing and bowling.  I asked isn't it going to be too dark to go mini golfing?  He said there is an indoor place in Tacoma we can go to.  You sure you want to go to Tacoma?  It will be awfully late?  He said yes it will be worth it because it would be something fun to do.  I said okay.  I will meet him at the fire station after he get off work.

I finished up some chores and got ready to go.  I headed over and didn't hit too much traffic through Tenino which was awesome.  I got to the station just after he pulled in.  He got ready, we said hi to a few people, he sewed the hole in his shorts and we were on our way to Tacoma.  It was way past my dinner time so I was getting hungry.  This was the first time we used the cell phone selfie stick.

When we got to Tacoma we decided to check out our favorite place to eat Engine House No. 9, we haven't been there since April when we chaperoned Prom for my former high school.  We looked pretty.  This was the first time we went and the place was really empty.  I guess no one eats dinner at 9:30 on a Monday evening.  We ordered beers and went into the other room to play shuffleboard as we waited for our food.  I got the Rowdy Dick Ale and Ben ordered the Heffe.  I got a burger with fries and he ordered the turkey pesto sandwich with tots.

I destroyed Ben at shuffleboard.  At one point I had 14 points on the board that he erased but I was still kicking the pants off of him.  I won 21-2...yes he only scored 2 points.  Haha!

We finished our food and beer, paid and got back into the car for our next destination, Tower Lanes Entertainment Center, a place Ben has been to while he lived around the Tacoma area.  I didn't know what to expect.  I've never been to bowling alley/indoor mini golf complex before.  It makes sense living in an area where it rains or is soggy 9 months out of the year.  I wished we had one of these closer to Olympia.  We went in and paid our fee for a round of mini golf first.  We took lots of video and a few pictures.

The first hole I immediately got a hole in one!  I was soo stoked!  I won the first 9 holes and Ben won the other 9 holes and overall Ben won.  I hated losing but I had too many strokes on 3 of the holes.  We had a ton of fun though.

Then we went over to the bowling alley on Lane 3 for two rounds of bowling.  I haven't bowled in at least 6 months.  If we went more often I think I would be better than I am.  Breaking 100 for me is good and that's always the goal.  The first round I almost bowled a turkey but was one pin shy when I missed the spare.  I was in the lead until he had a really awesome 10th frame and we ended our first game in a tie, 109-109.  I was shocked!

The next game we both did pretty badly.  I ended up with a 78 and he got 110.  I could not for the life of me hit my spares.  I missed every single one of my spares.  We finished date night around 12:15 and drove back to Rochester where the Escape was.  We hung our for another half hour and then said our goodbyes.  I went home, got ready for bed and passed out.  I was tired.

Stay tuned for the GoPro video of our golfing and bowling adventures.
