Friday the 13th Thunderstorm

Last night we had a thunderstorm.  I really don’t remember the last time we had one that large.  It has been a while.  I’ve been running about 2 miles every other day, sometimes everyday if I feel like it, and I noticed the huge cloud behind me.  This was one of those times I should have brought my cell phone for pictures.  I ran as fast as I could the last leg of my run.  I did not want it to get too dark to see.  I got home, grabbed the cell and headed out the door.  I took mom’s car because mine needs new brake pads.  I drove out to the end of the road and took a picture of the cloud that was over our house.

I saw lightening to the northwest.  I drove into Rainier because there were less trees to try and look over.  I saw that it had rained in town.  Weird, it didn’t rain at home.  I parked in the lot and watched the lightening show.  I was there for about 15 minutes.  I went home shortly after taking video for 3 minutes.

Later I found out there was a funnel cloud that almost touched down in the Yelm area.  I didn’t hear for sure though.  I did see some pictures on the internet.
